Here is a series of portraits of a beautiful Andalusian Stallion, the magnificent horse of Spain. Note the heavily crested neck and noble head which are characteristic of this historic breed. The Andalusian is trained in "Alta Escuela", which is the Spanish dressage tradition.

Print 1. The stallion peers into the camera, looking at you soul to soul. Sunlight catches the ends of his forelock. This dramatic image won second place at the 2009 Sonoma Harvest Fair Professional Photography competition.

Print 2. The stallion arches his magnificent neck and curly mane, lowering his head, looking more intently at the viewer.

Print 3. Here he lifts his nose slightly, bringing more light on the bone structure of his handsome face. Beautiful texture and colors of his mane.

Print 4. Here the stallion looks away from the camera, perhaps looking at a mare or a threat to his territory. This portrait shows the deep set neck of this breed which gives them their beautiful appearance under saddle. When they arch their necks they present an impression of regal power reminiscent of classical paintings from centuries ago.
